agribusiness operation in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec
employing over 150 full time and seasonal employees.

We are an independent, locally owned enterprise with strong family values. Jim’s daughters are now active in the company making them the second generation involved in the business. Our strategy involves investing locally which allows us to be customer focused by remaining within the community and allowing for prompt decisions due to the company’s proximity.

From our locations in Maxville, Vars and Cobden, we operate state-of-the-art facilities and provide one-on-one customer service with the goal of establishing long-term business relationships.

OUR JOURNEY SO FAR

For over 40 years, we have been committed to meeting the needs of farmers and their operations. The journey begins in 1983.

1983 The original MacEwen building where their story began.
In 1984, MacEwen Agricentre continued its expansion through the acquisition of businesses.
1985 MacEwen Agricentre buys the Lalonde Feed Mill in Hammond, ON
1992, MacEwen Agricentre buys the assets of Maurice Lamoureux LTD. in St-Isidore, ON.
1992, MacEwen Feed & Fertilizer is renamed MacEwen Agricentre In.
1992-95, MacEwen operates two mills: dairy feed in Maxville, ON and poultry fee in St-Isidore, ON.
2000, MacEwen installs a multi-million dollar fertilizer blending tower in Maxville, ON
2000, MacEwen installs another fertilizer tower, this time, in Vars, ON
2012, MacEwen opens a new feed mill in Maxville, ON and closes St-Isidore.
2015, Construction begins on the six fertilizer domes in Maxville, ON.
2015, MacEwen purchases Milla Feed and Seed in Cobden, ON.
2016, Construction is completed on a fertilizer storage and blending facility in Cobden, ON.
2018, Construction is completed for a 30,000 square-foot warehouse in Maxville, ON
2021 MacEwen begins an expansion project to its feed mill and upgrades its equipment.
2023, Work is completed on the expansion of the grain drying and storage facility in Cobden, ON
